Skin & copper peptides
GHK-Cu
A tripeptide-copper complex that occurs naturally in human plasma. GHK-Cu is one of the best-studied peptides in skin research, with extensive literature on collagen synthesis and skin regeneration.
Structure
- Sequence
- Gly-His-Lys · Cu²⁺
- Molecular formula
- C₁₄H₂₃CuN₆O₄
- Amino acids
- 3 (+ Kupfer-Ion)
Mechanism of action
GHK-Cu delivers bioavailable copper to cells, activates metalloproteinases for tissue remodelling and stimulates the synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans. It also modulates TGF-β signalling.
