The only human cathelicidin peptide. LL-37 is a 37-amino-acid peptide with a broad antimicrobial spectrum and immunomodulatory properties.

Mechanism of action
LL-37 inserts into microbial membranes and forms pores, which lyses pathogens. It also activates formyl peptide, toll-like and P2X7 receptors and so recruits immune cells.
