Growth hormone axis
Kisspeptin-10
Also known as: KP-10, Metastin 45-54
A decapeptide fragment of kisspeptin and one of the strongest known regulators of the reproductive axis. Kisspeptin-10 stimulates GnRH release in the hypothalamus via the GPR54 receptor.
Structure

- Tyr-Asn-Trp-Asn-Ser-Phe-Gly-Leu-Arg-Phe-NH₂
- Molecular formula
- C₆₃H₈₃N₁₇O₁₄
- Molecular weight

Mechanism of action
Kisspeptin-10 binds the G-protein-coupled receptor KISS1R (GPR54) on GnRH neurons. This triggers pulsatile GnRH secretion and downstream LH and FSH release.
